Yes. Luma starts at complete beginner (A1): she greets you in Romanian, keeps most of the conversation in your own language at first and moves more of it into Romanian as you go. Coach suggestions stay on for beginners, so you always know what you could say next, and the first lessons cover greetings, numbers and everyday phrases.

What's new is that the article is glued onto the end of the word — cafea becomes cafeaua — plus a handful of cases and a layer of Slavic words with no cousin in Spanish or Italian.
